Memories of the Afterlife: Life Between Lives Stories of Personal Transformation

Memories of the Afterlife has 32 stories of personal encounters with Life Between Lives (LBL) therapy. The stories were written by many different LBL counselors and edited by Michael Newton. It is a very effective presentation of the power and subtlety of this therapy for a large variety of problems.
I came away from reading this book with mixed feelings. While not detracting from the effectiveness of the therapy, this is basically a marketing book – marketing to others who might like to have such an experience.
I am not familiar with Dr. Newton’s other books so my reaction is based solely on what I see here. What I see here is that the primary beneficiaries of LBL are mostly white females with relationship problems and a few low-energy white males. The only mention of drugs that I could find was in the last sentences of the book where Dr. Newton remarks that drugs cloud the progress of the soul. Duh! So, can LBL help undo that clouding? Are drug addicts off-limits to receiving the therapy?
Similarly, none of the stories involve gay people. None involved clergy in traditional religions. None involved African American men struggling with the downward peer pressure that so many live with.
I am not familiar with the cross-section patients that have experienced LBL regression. From this book, it is not apparent whether the clientele presented here was due to (1) the radical preponderance of white females attracted to new-age ideas, (2) the self-selection of the clients willing to share their stories, (3) the ideology of LBL practitioners, or (4) Dr. Newton’s editing biases. If you are not part of the target group, you may expect to end up having more questions after reading this book than you started with.

Do you want to know the truth about your life? Read this book. There are many works on the market about reincarnation, life after life, and the NDE phenomenon, but MEMORIES OF THE AFTERLIFE provides a very succinct catalyst for all of the information “out there” on these subjects. The true stories in this volume illustrate perfectly the reasons for our life journeys on earth, as well as the bases of our trials and tribulations. They leave no doubt as to our eventual return to “home” in the afterlife’s loving reality. Chapters such as “Two Suicides” and “I am Home” are proof that hope, growth, true happiness, and freedom from fear are possible for all of us. Further, LBL hypnotherapy from trained, experienced professionals is available to anyone who wants it! I found MEMORIES OF THE AFTERLIFE months ago when perusing Michael Newton books, and advance-ordered it. When it arrived last week, I read it cover-to-cover overnight, and am buying copies for friends.
