How Much Memory Should I Add To My Ibook G4? Has 512mb Standard But Is Slow Using Different Websites At Once?
If I’m watching a video on youtube, for example and log onto a website in a new window, the video in youtube will get briefly interrupted. The computer is also slow playing videos in quicktime or real player and sometimes these get interrupted or are choppy. Will increased memory help with this and how much should I add–another 512MB or a full 1GB? Thanks!
Most computer users have been trained that if you want more speed for your computer, then add more memory. Well, this is true, in certain circumstances. But for most of the times, it really is just bad files in your registry files. Corrupted or missing registry files can make your computer too slow.
The registry is a main part of your computer’s Operating System. With time, as you use Windows and install and uninstall programs, your registry will get congested and full of errors. So your computer could slow down. So, if you can clean it up this problem can be solved.Sometimes you can speed computer up by 300%. To clean up registry,You can download a software called regsitry cleaner—Clean registry, remnant, corrupt files and temp files,history,cookies,etc.. This site:http://www.speed-up-my-computer.com/
lists top 5 registry cleaner, you can download and scan for free.
Good luck!
another 1gb should do the job. Having more memory (RAM) on the system should allow your ibook to process online video more quickly than it i now. so you don’t get the choppy/freeze like video. I hate that! it’s like the online version of a scratched audio CD!
go to http://www.matriana.com/crucialcheck.asp… , enter apple and then your model it will tell you EXACTLY what fits your computer and the max you can put on it. If you can do 1gb, I would DEFINATELY go with that.
hope that helps!
